This photo shows children from our local primary school, Wahroonga Public School walking up Burns Road in 1952. Many of our residents raised their families in Wahroonga with their children attending what is affectionately known as “The Bush School”.

School children from Wahroonga Public walking up Burns road towards Eastern road. Wahroonga Public School opened in 1944 as an ‘infants’ school with 26 pupils. Wahroonga Public is situated within a high blue gum forest which led to the school being also known as “The Bush School”.
